About rock installation

Now, what's that all about installing rock ? Sounds pretty cool uh? But is that really interesting?
Okay, we'll tell you more about it. You can also check www.rockdumping.eu
Rock is used to protect pipelines, for seabed preparation to install platforms, or for berms to lay pipelines on.

Watch an animation on Youtube.

Fallpipe technique.

The fallipe technique is used to install rock on the seabed on greater water depths varying from 20 to 850 metres.

Rock dump ROV

At the bottom of the fall pipe a ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) is attached. By means of thrusters the ROV can be manoeuvred to follow a pre-defined track and so place the rock with the required quantity and dimensions on the required place.

Pre-lay rock installation.

Pre-lay is the definition for installing rock prior to laying pipelines, cables or umbilicals. And prior to install platforms or rigs.

Pre-lay pipeline crossing
Freespan correction
Seabed preparation
Pipeline supports

Post-lay rock installation.

Post-lay is the definition for installing rock after laying pipelines, cables or umbilicals. And after installing platforms or rigs.

Post-lay pipeline crossing
Trench backfilling
Thermal insulation
Scour protection

Upheaval buckling
Ballasting
