The last crew change has been done prior to Christmas.
So the same happy few that spent Christmas on board gathered also to welcome the New Year. And a very warm welcome it was. The celebration was limited in time, especially since the Credit Crunch was invented in 2008, also in 2009 time will be money, probably more than ever before, but still it was worthwhile. In the Old Year we organised a little sweepstake with nice prices, maybe not the many millions that some lotteries offer, but still there were plenty golfballs, icescrapers and other goodies to be won, also with thanks to our sponsors.
The New Year was welcomed with a toast of champagne and very lovely fireworks, which must have entertained besides our own crew, many fellow seafarers, as we were close to the very busy shipping lanes of the Vlieland North trafic separation scheme. Most certainly the crew admired the beautiful colors of the seemlesly never ending fireworks as ignited by our deckengineer Ivan and his companions.
