The Nordnes song "Drop the rocks down" is based on a several centuries old melody. We figure that, among the visitors of our website, there must be a number of talented people, maybe with DJ aspirations, who are able to remix the song to sound much more like 2012.
Use the original clip, add beats, echos, samples and effects as you like to make it sound more groovy. Entries or a link to your youtube video can be e-mailed to info@nordnes.nl.
At the end of February 2012 a voting will be organised and the composition which is considered the best remix will be awarded with a €50 ITunes gift card.
All entries will be published on and will become property of www.nordnes.nl
We are happy to meet you here. Please surf around and find out who we are, what we do, why we do that and for whom.
The Nordnes is a self unloading bulk carrier converted to a flexible fall pipe vessel. Fallpipe? Flexible?? Find out here what that is.
Who are we?
We are the crew of the Nordnes. A happy family consisting of many nationalities: Filipino, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Belgian, British,
Canadian, Ukrainian and Latvian, just to name a few.
What do we do?
That's easy: we install rock on the seabed!??
Why do we do that?
We install rock because we have clients who want that. Our clients need rock for various reasons: to protect offshore (gas and oil) pipelines, to build rock berms for pipeline supports, to protect platforms against scouring and to build foundations for platform installation. We have the technology, knowledge and experience to do that.
Where do we do that?
Currently our main activities are concentrated on the Northern North Sea.
